KARACHI: Unidentified men hurled a hand grenade in the house adjacent to the residence of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party’s Senator Sheikh Islamud-Din in Clifton on Saturday.
According to a report on a private television channel, the police said some unidentified men came on a motorbike and threw a hand grenade near the house of the senator, situated on Street 13 in the Bath Island area of Clifton, which failed to explode.
A bomb disposal squad was immediately contacted who defused the hand grenade.
The police have registered a case against the unidentified men and cordoned off the entire neighbourhood. Sources in the PPP suspect that their senator could have been the target of the unidentified terrorists. –Online
